The Varsity and Junior Varsity wrestling teams had very successful seasons. The varsity team finished the year with a record of 12 wins and 6 loses. One of the team’s victories came against Homewood, a team they had never beaten before. Several of the team’s wrestlers attended the Alabama State Tournament. They were: Ron Davenport, Shawn Weltzin, Jason Forrester, Joseph LeCroy, and Kent Armstrong. This year Joseph LeCrow was Pelham’s first four year letterman in wrestling. The members of Pelham’s wrestling teams not only learned discipline and hard work this year, but also self-respect and determination.
