Another great year for Pelham Wrestling! Chris Adams earned the title of State Champion for the second year in a row -- Pelhams first 2X champion! Three other  wrestlers placed at State including Adam Barbee - 2nd place; Ben Johnson - 3rd place; and Dusty Shaw - 4th place. Chris and Adam also placed 1st in their divisions at sectionals.

Varsity Team

There were 7 seniors on the team this year: Chris Adams, Derrick Bagwell, Adam Barbee, Matt "Pumpkin" Hayes, Joe Tucker, Billy Rigdon, and Dusty Shaw. Other team members were Cody Browning, Michael Jacobson, Ben Johnson, Justin Kirchler, Tyler Knox, Taylor McIntosh, Doug McKay, Daniel Milton, Adam Moore, Stephen Price, Nathan Richey, and Jason Troutman.

JV Team

The PHS JV wrestling team showed strong wrestling this year under Coaches Bob Parker, Shawn Weltzin, and Brad McIntosh.  Brock Tuck won County Champion for his division and Ben Praytor placed 3rd.

Team members: Tyler Burger, Brian Hines, Jared McLendon, Sam Oldham, Ben Praytor, Chance Silver, and Brock Tuck.

Riverchase Team

The Riverchase team had a great year under the leadership of Coaches Scott Johnson, Brian McElhaney, and Wes Rodgers. There was a lot of new talent on the  mat and several wrestlers placed first at some tough tournaments, including Drew Brandenburg, Kevin Hendricks, Garrett Knox, and Matt O'Hara.  125 lb wrestler Kevin Hendricks was runner-up at County, and was awarded "most exciting match" of the Tournament.

Team members included: Cory Anchors, Mark Armistead, Chip Beck, Drew Brandenburg, Tucker Burleson, Marty Colbe, Jacob Demsky, Kevin Hendricks, Adam Irby, Andy Johnson, Mitch Keener, Garrett Knox, Sam Langforrd, Ben Long, Matt O'Hara, Zac Payne, Daniel Richey, Daniel Shaw, and Corey Smith.
